Essential oils are volatile oils extracted (by expression or distillation) from the aromatic essences of certain plants, trees, fruit, flowers, herbs, and spices. They can be used alone or blended together. Most often, I choose the appropriate oils right at the beginning of our session.
In aromatherapy massage, the essential oils are added to the massage oil or cream and massaged into the skin. When applied topically, essential oils are able to penetrate into the blood stream because of their small molecular structure. When inhaled, they can reinforce the effects of oils applied to the skin, and is a safe way to benefit from the healing properties of oils that could irritate the skin if applied topically.
You are more than welcome to choose essential oils or blends that you prefer, or bring your favorite. Please be sure it is a pure essential oil and NOT a fragrance oil (which are synthetic, lab created compounds that have no therapeutic effect and may even be potentially toxic).
If you're interested in the oils I use, most often they are Young Living essentials. I am NOT a certified aromatherapist, so I encourage you to do your own research before purchasing and using any essential oil.
You can sign-up and order from the Young Living site. Choose one of the account options, and fill in the required information. If you choose to sign-up as a wholesale member you will be asked to input your SSN or tax ID (if you're signing up as a business), this is because as a wholesale member you have the potential to earn commissions. I do not retain any of this information.
After you finish completing your account, just order and wait for your oils to arrive! Just order as needed, no minimums necessary.
