Before today, I had been looking at different guidance (CDC, ABMP, other states, other organizations, etc) to get an idea of what returning back to work might look like for massage. Finally, today, DORA released specific guidelines for massage therapists returning back to work in Colorado. In addition to the obvious need for enhanced cleaning techniques, products, and protective equipment, there are other factors that are delaying my full return.
For these reasons, I will be not rushing a full return to hands on work just yet. My priority will always be to keep both you and me safe.
At this time, my online schedule for massage will not be open to the public. As I prepare to phase my reopening, I will reach out to clients with prepaid services that were postponed during the initial health department order and reschedule them personally when I am ready.
For an idea on what some of the safety precautions look like, you can check out the Colorado Massage Therapy - Safer at Home Guidance and FAQ. Even with all these precautions in place, there isn't currently a way to be a 100% COVID free "safe zone". As science is a continuum of learning, adapting, evolving and creating, there will be more new information and ever-changing data and guidelines that we all have to work within.
I will fully reopen the massage side of things again. Just not right this second. And things will definitely look a little different moving forward. Stay safe and healthy out there y'all.
